Saliva toxicological analyses – Oral fluid drug testing
Toxicological analyses in saliva samples are performed to determine the use of drugs during the last 48 hours
Saliva testing is better than urine testing, as it is carried out with direct collection of a small portion of sample, it is non-invasive, it doesn’t require special sampling facilities and it can’t be falsified.
The test allows the detection in human saliva of the currently 5 most used drugs of abuse. Each substance is detected independently, therefore, the test gives a result drug by drug with ≈ 99% reliability. The test includes detection of cannabis, marijuana and hashish (THC), cocaine and crack (COC), heroine and opiates (OPI), amphetamines (AMP), methamphetamine and ecstasy (MET/MDMA)
Detection time after consumption: THC: 4-6 hours, COC: 1-2 days, ΟΡΙ: 1- 2 days, AMP 1- 2 days, MET 1-2 days
