TOXICOLOGY
  • Detection of drugs or other types of medication.
  • Hair testing detects recent or long-term, occasional  or regular use.

DNAlogy’s Forensic DNA Experts and their partners, provide a new protocol for forensic toxicology with hair analysis, which allows detection of drugs or medications that have been consumed months or years earlier, along with the determination of the quantities consumed.

Forensic Toxicology Principles

Head hair grows approximately by 1-1.5 cm per month. Each 1-1.5cm represents a time period of 1 month. For example, 12 cm of hair represents consumption of drugs or medications for the past 8-12 months. Forensic toxicology on hair can study the period of consumption and at the same time, determine the user profile: occasional or regular user.
