39352129

In the course of sampling, DNAlogy offers you free-of charge the DNAlogy-kit including the sterilized cotton swab, sampling instructions and a consent/order form for the applicant.
The aim of sampling is to collect as many cheek cells as possible and to transfer them to the sterilized cotton swab, which is going to protect DNA until its transfer to our laboratory.
Attention: Avoid any contact with the cotton tip end of the swabs.
Do not eat, drink or smoke for at least 30 minutes before sampling.
For the sampling procedure, each individual should use 2 swabs.

Step 1
Label the swabs with a unique identifying name and sampling date.

Step 2
Carefully open the sterile swab packaging holding the red plastic applicator end and remove the swab from the packaging.

Step 3
Sampling: Rub the cotton tip of the swab firmly against the inside of both cheeks several times (20-30 seconds) in each direction.

Step 4
Air dry the swabs for at least 1 hour at room temperature while keeping them protected from any source of contamination. When dry, place the swabs back in their packaging. Repeat the steps 1-4 with the second swab

Step 5
Send the swabs back to DNAlogy along with the completed questionnaire (consent and order form) by using the reply envelope.

LEGAL DNA TESTING

DNA Expertise in Court Penal cases. Determination of Biological Relationship.

DNAlogy laboratories are staffed with Forensic DNA Experts, registered in the lists kept in Greek courts and are accredited with the ELOT EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 quality management system.

For legal DNA testing, all participants should initially give their consent for sampling. A Forensic DNA Expert is then responsible for their identification through documents presented (IDs, passports, birth certificates etc.) and proceeds to the sampling procedure either himself or via the “on-line sampling procedure”. Each report issued by DNAlogy for legal use is signed by two DNA Experts.

According to the current European guideline regarding reliability of DNA analysis results, laboratories performing DNA analyses should be accredited with the ELOT EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 quality management system in order to produce reliable results which can be accepted by the authorities. DNAlogy laboratories have been accredited by the National Accreditation System for all DNA analyses conducted for legal use (biological material detection, DNA analysis and identification, biological relationship testing 1st-6th degree).

DNAlogy in co-operation with a network of lawyers, goes one step further and offers the the ability to conduct DNA testing for legal use before court-rooms, as well as representation in the court via its team of Forensic DNA Experts. In this way, your case can be solved quickly, accurately and with a low cost, since the case file will be complete from the beginning, including the necessary DNA results.
