The scientific team of DNAlogy has developed strong relations with renowned teams in other forensic fields, such as ballistics and toxicology. Forensic Investigation Laboratories F.I.C is our partner in ballistics, managed  by Mr. Raftogiannis Georgios, an accredited expert.
In 2008, he took over and restructured the most important independent Greek ballistics expertise laboratory. He manages it today by constantly seeking technical relevance and responsiveness.

 

 

Traces and fingerprints

The IGNA group belonging DNAlogy, has built a team specialized in developing and analyzing traces and fingerprints, since 2006.

Methodology:We have set up networks of devoted specialists perfectly cooperating with the genetic fingerprint teams. Due to these two combined activities, more comprehensive services are available within one institution, and thus, the outcomes
of judicial investigations are optimized. We offer you this double approach at the site in Athens.

 

1) An expert carries out all fingerprint developments (on site or in the laboratory).
2) Our development methods have been elaborated in order to preserve the DNA and to allow all parallel or additional tests.
3) Due to the close cooperation of the experts in different activities, there are many tests that can be conducted on the same sample.
4) For ballistic tests of weapons, we have implemented a protocol together with our partner in ballistics to take over the samples.
5) We keep all other traces found during the tests (e.g., shooting residues), likely to serve further in the investigation.
6) Unique management of samples to limit transportation and handling; all being taken care of on the same site.

Advantages:

For the same sample, genetic and fingerprint tests are conducted in the same laboratory using protocols allowing preservation of both traces. This facilitates :

1) Administrative tasks.
2) Organising transportation.
3) A smaller number of interveners.
4) Optimum outcome. 

As far as fingerprint traces are concerned, we have invested in equipment which has allowed us to develop, acquire and preserve other invisible traces to the naked eye: Traces of pressure gradient, writing, weighing, etc.
